And it was all going so well. Claire and Allan's big day had been perfect. Perfect that is right up until Eva, who was 6 months pregnant at the time, got cramp in both legs half way through the first dance and collapsed flat on her back. Eva and I had went down to the beach the day before Gillian & Ian's big day to work out our shots and it was absolutely pouring, typical! We first met Gillian & Douglas at a wedding last year. Gillian came over to say hello and mentioned that she was getting married in 2011 and was looking for a photographer. Fast forward a year and here are the results from their fantastic day at The Lochside House Hotel. Nicola & Andrew's big day had an added significance for me as Nicola's mum, Linda, was a great friend of my mum's. My mum had constantly been on at Linda to get Nicola to look at us to do the wedding but Nicola and Andrew had already booked their photographers... us! What are the chances heh heh! And what a day we had. Everything was just perfect and it was one of those magical days where it all just clicked ( no pun intended ).We want to thank Nicola & Andrew for inviting us to their big day and for following us down a long muddy lane into a big field of yellow flowers ( ok... i said 30 yards, but it was more like 300 x ). The 21st May 2011 will go down in wedding photographic history as the worst days weather EVER! Poor Laura & David had planned to get married outside Ross Priory in a field of bluebells, but the Scottish rain soon put paid to that. Honestly, it lashed down from start to finish Aaaaargh!!! Thankfully Laura & David are the most chilled out couple you could ever meet and nothing was going to spoil their big day. We had an absolute ball and even managed to get outside, with the help of 5 umbrellas, later on in the day. Louise & Mike got married at the beautiful St Columbas church in Ayr. Not only is it one of the most photogenic churches we've photographed but it also boasts one of the funniest ministers, Fraser Aitken. If Fraser ever decides on a stand up career then i'll be first in line for tickets, he's hilarious. Louise and Mike live in Bristol but with Louise hailing from Troon they decided on a Scottish wedding. I've got a theory that all of Scotland's good weather is saved for visiting wedding guests to give them the false impression that it's always sunny up here, If only they knew heh heh! This was our first visit to the beautiful Knockderry house near Helensborough and we hope it won't be our last. In fact the drive up was so picturesque, that I kind off forgot to keep my eye on the road and drove into a kerb, doh! Luckily the resulting flat tyre happened just 100 yards away from Knockderry, phew! This was one of those typical Scottish days, where intense heat was balanced up by constant showers and thunder and lighting but Hazel & Ryan were fantastic and just went with the flow. Beautiful scenery, fantastic location, great company and a gorgeous couple...who needs good weather anyway, heh heh! C & E x

Chris & Melissa live in Hertfordshire but decided on a good old Scottish wedding at the fantastic Brig O ' Doon in Alloway. After the ceremony they had a wee surprise for all their guests in the form of a George Michael tribute act. The tranquil surroundings of the Brig O' Doon have never and may never again be treated to the sound of 'wake me up before you go go...' being belted out full blast heh heh! A fantastic day was topped off by the craziest dancing guests I think we've ever seen, they were amazing. Well done everyone involved. I was knackered just watching them. C & E x

These castle ruins near Drimmen were amazing and the perfect location for our Trash the dress shoot with Roma & Scott. The only problem was we all had to go up a set of ladders, get over a barb wire fence and a 12 ft wall to get into it. Roma & Eva were right in there, despite one wearing a wedding dress and the other being 7 months pregnant, brilliant! We had a lovely time just wandering about with Roma & Scott, having a great laugh and taking the odd photo. Ok... taking a million photos. C & E x

When we wanted a piece of music for our slideshow presentations we knew exactly who to go to. Craig Brown is a professional musician, who devotes all his time to scoring film & tv work and our brief was vague and simple " something with a ukulele? " The resulting music 'Ukulele Lovebirds' ( Eva's title, not mine) has been so well received by all our clients, that Craig is about to venture into writing & producing bespoke wedding music for couples wanting something totally unique and personal for their big day. We'll keep you informed of Craig's progress and contact details when he's launched the new venture. Fiona & Robert got married in Motherwell just a minute or so away from Strathclyde country park, so it was an easy decision just to pop in before heading to The Shawlands Park Hotel for the reception. Emily & Fergus got married at Moorpark House in Kilbirnie. Fergus appeared bright and early and I started to shoot a few wee shots of him. I noticed he was wearing an unusual cravat and I complimented him on his unique taste. Ten minutes later his best man wandered over to tell him that it was on backwards, Doh! Nikki & Scott got married in March at the lovely Brisbane Hotel in Largs. Nikki used to be in an all girl pop band and even appeared on Top of the Pops, wow! As a surprise to Scott she recorded a special song for their first dance, how cool is that! Hayley & Adrian's day didn't get off to the best starts for me. I somehow managed to smash the back of my brand new camera without having taken a single frame, ouch! I should be nominated for an Oscar for my "Ach, it doesn't matter, I've got another one" performance. Thankfully the day got better and better and we had a fantastic time, despite the March weather not doing us any favours. The racing was also on at Ayr racecourse and the guys wanted all their guests who had made the journey up from England to enjoy it too, but there was only one real winner that day, of course... Well we've finally got round to blogging the final wedding from last year, phew! What a day it was too. The rain didn't stop from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, nightmare! But Lauren & Brian didn't let it spoil their big day one little bit. They were amazing and with no pressure from us they even agreed to pop over to Glasgow green for 10 minutes, absolutely brilliant! The shots also featured on the beautiful blog ' Love my Dress' so we were all pretty chuffed about that too. For those of you blown away with Lauren's style, good news she's just about to start her own online vintage clothes shop. This was our first visit to Dunblane Hydro and as usual, when we arrived, I was running about like a headless chicken. I flew down a bit of grass, slipped and ended up 6 foot in the air. Luckily my cameras and a pile of mud broke my fall, ouch! My suit was absolutely covered and I looked up to see a couple of pensioners doubled over with laughter heh heh! Luckily Jenni & Lee's day got a lot better from that point on and we had a really brilliant day. What a crowd, young and old, it didn't matter, they were all as eccentric & crazy as each other, superb! C & E x

Rowallan Castle bridal shoot - part I

Eva organised this fashion shoot at the beautiful Rowallan Castle in Ayrshire, one of the most spectacular locations we've ever photographed at, Wow! As Eva is 5 months pregnant I thought I'd better go along to help carry the bags and I'm glad I did because I managed snap a few lovely shots myself (without Eva knowing heh heh!) Thankfully Eva loved them and allowed them in the final cut, no money exchanged hands, honest!

We can't thank everyone at Rowallan Castle enough for their access. We could have photographed there for a week and hopefully we'll be photographing a real wedding there soon. Anyone looking for a venue with real 'Wow' factor has to check it out.

A few special thanks must go to all the people involved making the day go so well. They include:

This was a quick wee shoot we did for Rick & Liam from 'Circus of Soul'. A Dj collective from Ayrshire. Rick is our 'go to' man when we have a problem with our computers and he can fix anything. We took the chance to do a few shots in the style of my favourite photographer Anton Corbijn, the photographer who inspired me to pursue a career in photography. I was at Glasgow airport one day and actually recognised him in the coffee shop and like a wee schoolboy i plucked up the courage to ask for his autograph. He was brilliant and chatted away, my photography hero! C & E

Donna & Neil got married at the beautiful Bothwell Parish Church. With it being autumn the trees looked amazing so we did a few wee shots there then it was off to Glenskirlie House for the reception. Donna & Neil were so laid back and chilled about everything that I even think it started to rub off on me. I'm pretty sure my heartbeat got down to new record of 130bpm at one point, heh heh! Another great thing about this job is that you get to meet so many interesting people and we had a great chat with Allister & Elaine at Geewiz wedding films. They even got us to make an appearance in the wedding film. I just hope Donna & Neil didn't get too much of a shock when we popped on screen dancing about like idiots, heh heh!

We have just had two of our weddings featured in two of our favourite magazines. The most recent one being Clare & Tony's wedding which was featured in the brilliant Scottish Wedding Directory 'Real Life Weddings'.

Also Lisa & Tony's wedding was featured in the amazing Best Scottish Weddings the end of last year. That article was actually written by another one of our brides Kat from our most recent blog. And both of the grooms are called Tony, but I don't think that means anything :)

We were feeling a wee bit of pressure for Kat & Iain's big day as Kat works for The Best Scottish Weddings magazine, but that pressure was soon put into perspective when we heard that Iain's car had broken down on the way to the university, nightmare!
